Liturgical Ministries at MQ
Altar Servers
Servers have the opportunity to take an active role in service at the Altar of the Lord. Even though this ministry is ideal for our youth (4th grade & up), adults and families are encouraged to be Altar Servers as well. It is truly an honor to serve in this way.

Art & Environment
This ministry is responsible for decorating the church in proper liturgical colors throughout the year. It also oversees the use and care of flowers/plants, altar/specialty candles, and most artwork displayed in the sanctuary. It is a great ministry for “worker bees”, especially leading up to Easter and Christmas. Most of A&E’s work occurs during the day 9-5.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers Of Holy Communion (EMHC) distribute Holy Communion during Mass. They also bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound (Ministers who distribute to the homebound must have CMG Connect certification). To be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, you must have received the sacrament of confirmation and be at least in the 11th grade. Once trained, you will be commissioned by the Bishop for a period of three years.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God in the Scriptures at the Mass and at other special services.
They are evangelizers of Christ, opening their hearts to God’s Word so that they not only deliver it to others, but live it in their daily lives, putting into practice what they proclaim.
To be a Lector, you must have received the sacrament of confirmation.
